Contendro I stood out early as a premium stallion at the Holsteiner licensing and won his stallion performance test in 2000. His greatest significance, however, lies in his exceptional versatility as a sire. Codex One won the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen with Christian Ahlmann and represented Germany at the Olympic Games. Chiara also competed at the highest level in showjumping with Ludger Beerbaum. In eventing, Contendro I sired fischerChipmunk FRH, with whom Michael Jung won individual Olympic gold in Paris. He topped the WBFSH eventing sire rankings for several years. This son of Contender out of a Reichsgraf mare passed on technique, rideability, intelligence and a strong competitive mindset.
